Tony Furtado

Tony Furtado is a guitar, slide guitar, bottleneck slide and banjo fiend. Mostly active in the West, I've been to two of his rare New York shows and pulled him into a tiny room off the main stage of the Living Room for a chat. Listen to his fingers on this podcast where I include two and a half songs, with Peter Bradley Adams harmony on the first, and Ross Martin sitting in on guitar on the third.

The Blog that Ate Manhattan: Biking South on the NYC Westside Greenway

TBTAM
Dr. TBTAM does it again with a nice photo tour of an autumn Hudson River bikeride this last weekend. She has a good photo tourguid-ish eye. No sound, tho.

Jane Lui

Jane Lui is a San Francisco songwriter who is touring the US now, 2008. Nominally opening for songwriter Greg Friedman, their New York shows at the National Underground and Rockwood Music Hall merged into a round robin, and Jane sometimes accompanied Greg directly. I had discovered Jane as one of the gems of the strong San Diego scene and grabbed an interview on her last sweep through NYC, touring as singer for the band Starline Theorie. I like her range. To listen or download the interview, click the title, or here.

A Nice Bike Ride in New York City

A favorite blogger from "The Blog That Ate Manhattan" just posted pictures from her bicycle day up Manhattan's West Side, at The Blog that Ate Manhattan: NYC West Side Greenway Bike Path. TBTAM really captured the feel of this great New York ride. This is a bike trip my own New York Family Tourist also enjoys several times a year, but we usually drive our four bikes to the Fairway Market at 125th Street and then head south all the way to Battery Park, where we can see our Statue of Liberty. Sometimes we even continue over the Brooklyn Bridge to a delightful ultimate destination, an ice cream cone.

Thinking about you

Who are you? I wish I knew who you are. Write me at TouristInTheCity@gmail.com because I'd like to ask you some questions with my microphone and hear your sTeReO voice.

As for me, I'm editing some of the thirty recordings I've made over the past year and will begin posting them here for you. Full subscribe is at iTunes and I have a few unique short shows at Myspace.

Yes I do.
